At Bloomz, our mission is to transform the landscape of school communication by fostering meaningful connections between parents, teachers, and students. Our founder Chaks Appalabattula was diagnosed with idiopathic hypertrophic cranial pachymeningitis, a rare inflammatory disease. In a bad stroke of luck, suddenly his wife also developed health problems. With both parents ill, their young children were stuck. They had no one to transport the children to school, and the family lacked connections with other parents or teachers who could offer assistance. In addition, his daughter, having moved to a new school for a gifted student program, was bullied at the new school.

Unable to deal with it herself and not sharing with parents due to family conditions, his daughter slowly started withdrawing from academics and stopped participating in class. This affected his daughter socially, emotionally and academically. This whole ordeal was only revealed only after his recovery which took about 9 months. He experienced firsthand the isolation and impact that comes from a lack of communication. This profound experience ignited his commitment to create a comprehensive platform that empowers families by providing timely, actionable insights about their children’s education.
