At the beginning of the year each teacher at my school chose a virtue to be acknowledged for the entire month. Examples of virtues we have celebrated this year include respect, honesty, integrity, and tact. Joy is the virtue I chose for the month of May because students and teachers feel a delightful sense of accomplishment at this time of year. Here are three ways to celebrate and share joyfulness with your Bloomz community this June.

1. Joyful Noise There are academic and social-emotional breakthrough moments happening for students right now. These moments deserve appreciation! Check out this "Classroom Vibes Vol. 4 Club Kidz" playlist by Mrdtimes3. These tunes are sure to spark joy in your classroom environment. Share them with parents on your Bloomz newsfeed so they know how you acknowledge accomplishments in a festive way. These positive vibes are also great for summer birthday celebrations and graduation parties.
2. Merry Memories Take the opportunity to teach students how to use PowerPoint or another program to create a digital scrapbook for your class. Instruct each student to make a page in the class scrapbook. Offer prompts such as, "My favorite book we read..." or "One thing I learned about myself..." Encourage students to include favorite class memories. Share this digital scrapbook on your Bloomz news feed for your parent community to see or upload it to individual student timelines. Students might also type directly in their Bloomz Portfolio to share memories from this school year.
3. Lighthearted Learning Students have less capacity for new information in the last weeks of school. This is a time to show what you know in a lively way. Bring that excited end-of-the-year energy into your lessons. Produce a TV commercial and challenge students to create their own new breakfast cereals. Each student should create packaging and a TV commercial pitch to go along with it. Record a video of your students as they present their TV commercials and post them on your Bloomz news feed. Parents, students, and teachers will enjoy the silly stream of commercials!
