Attendance letters follow real state rule packs, CA, TX, WA, and NY ship built in: CA, TX and WA are coded to statute, and NY ships a default ladder for the district to adjust. Packs ship marked unreviewed, and the app tells you to verify with your counsel before relying on them. A letter drafts and staff approve it; print-and-mail goes through a vendor integration once a district sets it up and loads addresses. By default a mailed letter carrying an uncertified machine translation is held until a human certifies it. Digital delivery can go out on a labeled machine draft.

A text reply that lands inside the student's actual record, not a separate texting product
Apptegy Attendance Pro and SchoolStatus Attend both text a family about an absence and take a reply-with-reason back. Thrive does that too, and then does the thing a point attendance-texting product structurally can't: the reply correlates to the exact outreach it's answering, not just whatever thread is most recent, auto-excuses the day when the reason warrants it, and feeds the same day-count rollups and notice ladder the rest of Thrive already runs. When a reply discloses a housing, safety, or health-crisis need, it's delivered normally, and a case opens and a counselor is paged automatically. AI proposes a follow-up question; a staff member always approves it before it sends.

Growth against students who started at the same score
Each night Thrive converts every source to a percentile for the student's grade and season, and compares growth with students in the same grade and subject who started at the same score, using the test vendor's growth norms where the file carries them. When growth falls short, when a test and a class grade disagree, or when a score looks unreliable, the teacher sees a signal with the numbers behind it, the likely cause, interventions from your district's own list and, when the district's AI features are on, a one-sentence AI explanation. The teacher confirms, dismisses or snoozes it, or starts the intervention. The student page shows every source on one scale, the growth band and a peer view with no names.
